Rain and more rain...then some more

I am aware that this was a blog about art and embroidery and I will get around to that side but the weather here is the dominant event at the moment! I have been back here for 9 days and it has rained for 7 of those. If anyone is thinking of some winter sunshine, don't come to Cyprus!
When it rains here, it rains. This is the water heading it's way into our studio:

We had to stop work at lunchtime to bail out! Some bright spark decided it would be a good idea to concrete up the drain and now the water flows over it, down the step and through the studio like a stream. This is a picture of Clare and I trying to empty the puddle before it made it into the studio. It worked but it has now been raining for the last 4 hours non stop so I imagine it is full again. I'm not going out again, I have only just dried off from the first time!

I spoke to soon, water is over the step again...back outside we go....

You should be glad it's not snow, snow and more snow.
England Scotland and Wales have shut down and taken to snowballing and sledging.
Off to Fuertaventura next week. Have had enough. PAH

Hi Sawah, good to hear that you are still enjoying it (most of the time)
Its been typical England this week. A wee bit of snow and the country grinds to a halt. Its painful to watch. (6000 schools were shut). In Leicestershire we only had about 1 inch of snow and they shut all schools + the council closed as well and just to top it up, they are now running out of grit as 'this winter has been worse than normal'. My arse!!! It's unplanned and pure stupidity. They know when winter falls and they know that they will need gritting.
Apart from that life is good. Keeping busy. Alex (jaguar) has started turning up for band again. She said that she would send you an email at some point.

Hope the sunshine will come your way soon.

Take care!
x

Do you feel better for getting that off your chest?! What would we talk about if we didn't have the weather! Doesn't matter where you are in the world, there is always weather to talk about! We have more rain forecast for next week....
