Time to pack...

The Course: Eight month Diploma in fine art
The location: Cyprus College of Art, Lempa (www.artcyprus.org)
The idea: To improve on current art skills, gain new ideas from new sources and have quality dedicated time to build up a body of art work
Some current influences: Gustav Klimt for his use of gold, Henri Matisse for his use of pattern and colour, Lawrence Alma-Tadema for his richness and attention to detail

Art materials going in the suitcase (Oil paints on on their way by boat as they aren't allowed on plane):
Canvases (various shapes and sizes)
Plain canvas fabric
Wooden shapes
Clear plastic (to paint on not to cover painting surfaces!)
Lots of sketchbooks (Favourite; Laporello concertina sketchbooks)
Watercolours
Tons of brushes
Drawing pens and pencils

All I have to do now is fit some clothes in. If anyone can think of anything vital I have forgotten...now is the time to say!

The journey that begins now is one that will delve deeper into the creative aspect of my life. I am off to the Cyprus College of art to do a Diploma in Fine Art at their college just north of Paphos. This blog is for all of my colleagues and students, to give them inspiration to further explore their already amazing talent and for anyone who, like me, hasn't found anything as fulfilling as creating...
